Coillte wood products division have a proud tradition of producing Irish softwood and hardwood products since the beginning of the century. Today our processing plant in Dundrum, Co. Tipperary is a leading supplier of native hardwood kiln dried timber to the joinery, kitchen manufacturing and flooring sector in Ireland.

Those species available from Coillte for flooring include oak, ash, beech, spanish chestnut, and elm. These floors are sold unfinished and have a standard cover width of 80mm and a thickness of 18mm, although there are wider boards available (135mm cover width and 20mm in thickness) in oak and elm only. The boards are tongued and grooved end matched for ease of installation on battens or a sheet material. It is advisable to check in advance the availability of each species as it may vary from time to time, depending on demand.

Coillte also supply sawn kiln dried boards to kitchen and furniture manufacturers. Those species available include oak, ash, beech, spanish chestnut, elm, sycamore, cherry, alder, walnut and birch. All species are visually graded after kiln drying and classified into specify grades. More specify information on grading is listed for each species in the Furniture section. Coillte also supply sawn timber for larger projects typically on the scale of hotels, bars and restaurant, some of these projects can be seen in the commercial projects.

Coillte also manufacture a range of heavy duty outdoor furniture which are especially suited to parks and public amenity areas. We use prime pressure treated Douglas fir timber in the manufacture of our furniture. Coillte also supply a comprehensive range of Douglas Fir machined and profiled products as well as sawn timber. We always strive to provide an informative and flexible service to satisfy all of our customers.
