Introduction
Walnut appeals particularly to furniture manufacturers for it dark brown colour and attractive grain. In fact Black Walnut is steam treated, almost by default, to enrich the dark brown heartwood color.
Shown below is a bespoke 'Malmo' table and chair. In this case the craftsman has used the contrasting Walnut and Sycamore to good effect.
The 'Writing Bureau' exemplifies the richness of color and textured finish associated with Walnut, ( in this case Black Walnut from France ). Note also the dovetailed drawer detail using Aromatic Cedar. The kitchen table ( from USA Walnut ) stands on an Oak floor, with n Alder kitchen in the background.
